Lori Otterstrom

Lori Otterstrom

Babies, babies everywhere! That's been my life. I'm the youngest of 10 children. I have 50 something nieces and nephews that I helped tend. I have nine children and four grandchildren (with one on the way in Jan). I love babies. When my youngest, who is now nine, got into school I was looking for a good volunteer opportunity and came across Welcome Baby. Right up my alley! So I've been volunteering for over six years now. I love supporting and helping these new families and I try to emphasize the importance of what they're doing. I love representing the community with the gifts and resources that Utah Valley offers. It's great living in a place that values and supports families! I also enjoy cooking for a crowd, hiking, water skiing, flower arranging, and reading a good Jane Austen or Elizabeth Wharton novel. I grew up in Northern California, met my husband at BYU and after graduate school in Baton Rouge, LA, we came back here where he teaches at BYU. We have raised our family here for 23 years now. So it's a great place to be and a wonderful place to help other families!

Our Current Interns

Amy Estes

Amy Estes

My name is Amy, and I am currently a student at BYU majoring in Family Studies with an emphasis in Family Services. I am hoping to continue my education beyond a Bachelor's and get a Master's in Social work. I love learning from people and understanding their stories which has propelled my desire for a career in Social Work! Aside from my passion for people, I am very passionate about food and love to cook and try out new restaurants!

Katelyn Hardy

Katelyn Hardy

My name is Katelyn Hardy. I was born and raised in Tucson, Arizona. I moved to Utah almost four years ago so that my husband could attend BYU. I come from a family of six kids. I am number five of six. We are all married with children. My parents currently have eighteen grandkids. I love spending time with my family, which consists of my husband, my son and I. We recently found out we were pregnant with identical twin girls. Together some of our favorite hobbies are walks, perusing Walmart, and swimming. I am currently pursuing a degree in Public Health, with 3 semesters left. This puts my graduation in Summer of 2021. Once I graduate I hope to continue my education in Physical Therapy.

Madison Allison

Madison Allison

My name is Madison, and I am currently finishing my degree in Public Health from BYU-Idaho and expect to graduate in December of 2020. I grew up in Menifee, California and spent three years attending BYU-Idaho in Rexburg, Idaho, which is where my husband and I met on a blind date. We were married in June of 2019 and are currently expecting twin girls! I love playing the piano, doing anything outdoors, crafting, and spending time with my husband and our families. I am incredibly excited to be working with Welcome Baby because I love their mission to support mothers and fathers. As a part of the Welcome Baby team, I hope to be able to help strengthen families and help parents become confident in their abilities to nurture their children.
